Hi everyone,
We wanted to update you about the future of Mapping Memories. We’re incredibly proud to have kept up our weekly blog for nearly 12 months. In that time, we’ve posted 52 stories, sharing our adventures and building wonderful memories with you. Your support and enthusiasm have meant the world to us, whether you’ve been with us from the start or just joined.
Mapping Memories began as a creative outlet for our shared travel experiences, and it has definitely been a success. However, in recent months, posting weekly has started taking more energy than it gives back. Despite having a list of 60 stories in our backlog, we’ve found it increasingly challenging to enjoy the writing and posting process.
This pressure has conflicted with our personal time, limiting our ability to create new memories and spend time with loved ones.
Instead of playing board games together, meeting up with friends, trying something new, or just living life more fully, we felt pressured to write a blog. It's a shame because creating memories and spending time with loved ones is what life is about.
That’s why we’ve decided to stop posting for a while.
It doesn’t mean that we will stop posting forever. We might sometimes post after a trip if we feel inspired, but we won’t commit to a schedule. It’s been draining us more than it’s giving us energy, which is a shame. We’re very happy we rounded off and finished the Canada series and were able to share our stories because we loved it so much. It was one of our favorite trips of all time.
For our paying subscribers, we truly appreciate the support you’ve shown us, and we’ll start the process of refunding your money.
So, that’s it for now.
Lots of Love
Mike & Hannah
Good luck with everything guys, and hope to see you back in the saddle soon -or not, depending on what's best for you :)
Very sad but also totally understandable. A post a week is not an easy feat and something that's meant to bring joy should never become a burden or a chore. Now the new stories will be even more valuable, like a rare treat! 🩵
