There is so much around us if only we care to stop and look/listen.

BTW I’ve got 2 Arabian Mau (both rescues) one of which is an Omani Mau. Comparing the two, the difference is clear.

Speaking of Oman, did you know that the Omani Arabian Mau (cat) has some of the genes of the Omani or Gordon’s wildcat in its DNA? These Maus have evolved naturally over a period of a 1,000 years.

Wow, the more you know! That also makes you realize our lives are just a small blip when zooming out far enough

Wow those pools inside the mountains look fantastic.

I have never really considered travelling to Oman but you have certainly encouraged me to do so. Although I would not do it as a solo trip, I might convince my husband to go with me for this one.

Thank you for sharing. I'm glad to hear that English was not an issue. This is one of my biggest fears, particularly in Middle East countries where the language is not based on our alphabet. There's no guessing.

Took me there. Thanks. Seems right up my alley with all the hikes and swims and such. Look forward to reading more, and maybe one day, I’ll head that way.

Truthfully I've never even considered Oman as a travel destination (which is a bit dumb, I know) but this all looks amazing! How was your experience with the locals? Were they friendly? Could you easily get by in English?

I mean it was also never on my travel list until a YouTube video inspired me to check it out, and I'm glad I did!

Every person that we spoke to in Oman was extremely friendly and spoke English (except one goat herder in the mountains, but they, goats over english right?). Everybody literally welcomed us in their country ("please brother, welcome"), so yes, locals were super friendly!
